Weekend Review
Friday I went to visit my Godson and his parents. Sounds so funny. Matt and Carla are doing well and Marcus is growing like a weed. He is about 24 inches long and is just about wearing 3 month old clothes. He is only a month old. So needless to say, he is a growing boy. I staid there for about 2 hours and held Marcus for an hour. All of which he slept in my arms, so it was nice because there was no crying and no pooping!
Later that night I met with some friends: Nick, Nicky, Jen, Justin, Scott, Jamila and Adam. We headed out to Atlantic Station for dinner, Atlanta's newest shopping center. It is a small town set on top of shops combined with condos and lofts. It is nice, but I am not sure if I would want to live there. Too many people coming and going in a small area and it is still in an area of Atlanta that is not the best part of town. The city had to create a new area code to fool people it is not the same old Atlanta they think it is. I mean who are they kidding. For the prices of the places you would think they were selling palaces made of gold. But it is a cool place to visit. Hell there is an IKEA there.
Well, we walked around and couldn't decide on a place to eat, so we headed to Chow Baby, a noodle house. This place is awesome!! It is an all-you-can-eat, make-it-yourself cheap-as-hell restaurant. We called ahead and they said we would be seated when we got there. Well, we had to wait about 45 mins when we arrived, so they offered us a free shot. Some of the members of our group did not drink liquor, so they asked for a beer instead, so we confused the people and cluster fucked that up. After talking to the hostess and the manager, we go the right drinks.
We all ate and did our trips through the line, but Jen was feeling sick, so she only took two bites of her food and basically sat there looking at her half bowl of rice. She wasn't feeling good, but she toughed it out and came out to be social (thanks Jen). As we were finishing our meal, Jen asked for a to-go box and they said no, because it was all you can eat. She felt bad because she wasting her money on the meal and then wasting the food because she only had 2 bites and if she knew she couldn't take it home, she wouldn't have gotten anything. Well, she started to get teary eyed, so I went to talk to the manger. After telling him what happened. He came over and not only let Jen take her food home, but they gave her a T-shirt.
Jen and Justin left before the rest of us, because Jen really wasn't doing well at all. Once we got the bill, Adam looked at it and he said the took some stuff off of it. I was thinking Jen's bowl, but it turned out our total bill was 60 bucks. We had 8 people plus they added the tip and it was $60.00. they only charged us for one dinner, $11.99 and then drinks, I think. Scott ordered 3 appetizers for the table and a few people had drinks, so we were thinking the bill should have been $150 with tip. We didn't complain about the extra beer they charged us for and gave the waitress and extra 20 bucks for tip and hit the door running. So all and all it was a good night.
Sunday, today, I am going to visit some friends I have known since I was 4 or 5 years old. Let you know how that was later. Then tonight I am hanging with my Maggiano friends. Can't wait for that!
Peace,
DeMo
