Dinner Guest
A buddy of mine is having a love affair from a far and tomorrow his long lost love will be coming for a holiday visit. This lady from a distance is the sister of a friend of his and he has this, some would say, abnormal crush on this girl. He has visited her at her home and that visit went well, but this is going to be the test visit.
The last visit was quick and she was preoccupied with other things, so her attention was not on him. This time she will be staying with her brother, and have nothing but time to spend with him. Thursday my friend will be spending Thanksgiving with her and her brother, so they will get to spend the entire day together. They will be able to talk, laugh, share and hopefully start something.
She lives in one state, he live in another and plans to move even further North. Is this something one should peruse or does love concur all? Distance is only a number and when it comes to love does it really matter how far one lives from another, or do you need more than just that feeling?
I have been in a long distance (324 miles to be persicise) relationship and that lasted about a year and a half. I was driving back to see her every weekend, and we talked all the time, so I guess that helped prolong the relationship. In the end, she was cheating on me and I guess she figured I would have never found out. Guess what, I did and we broke up. No time for cheaters in my life. If we lived closer to each other would she have cheated on me, could our relationship have lasted? I guess I would never know, but I am sure everything happened for a reason!
Thinking about all my friends and what has happened in their lives, it depends on the person and the situation. Some of my friends have concurred the dreaded long distance thing and some have raised the white flag and threw in the towel. As for my friend and his possible new relationship, I bid him good luck and hope it all works out. Finding someone special is tough and I guess finding someone near you is even tougher!
Peace,
DeMo

You forgot to mention that I have a beard. Remember its better to try and fail then to always regret the "what if's". That is what drives me crazy. Happy Turkey day. And for the record, I pulled off NC to South East Asia for 4 months once, so 3-4 hundred miles is nothing.
Hey, I say go for it! You know what can happen, or where your life can take you.
