Side Note

I just read an article, and yes I know, I read something, that Tommy Thompson is exploring the idea of running for the presidency in 2008. For those of you who don’t know Tommy Thompson, he was President Bush’s Health and Human Services Secretary during his first term. Oh, and did I mention my neighbor.

Yea, how cool is that! I know a possible future president of the United States of America. Of course, he is just toying with the idea and he has to run against other republicans just to get the honor of being the candidate, but how cool is it that I know and live with someone who could one day be our next president.

Not saying that he comes over and borrows and egg, or a cup of sugar from me, but we have met each other of a few occasions. The first time we met he said his name like I was supposed to know who he was. So I said my name back like he was supposed to know who I was – so I said in my head, all proud and mighty. I later told my buddy Scott and he said I was an ass because that was Tommy Thompson some big wig blah blah blah… I’m not really into politics.

I just thought I would share this with you, so if he does win the next election, I could be having lunch in the West Wing with my old neighbor reminiscing about the old neighborhood. Yea, right like that would ever happen. He would probably say to me you’re that asshole kid who didn’t know who I was.
