Best Week Ever, Yea Right
This past week was a trying week at work. My customer has gone out of her way to be a big pain in the you know where more than usual. It seemed no matter what was said or what was done it was never right. Then the culminating factor if her being unprofessional was her sending me, my project manager and my technical lead an email that started off by saying “Who the #&%@ do you think you are?”
Now I am no linguist by any means, but I am sure #&%@ means FUCK. Then she went on in non-coherent English about trying to take credit for a paper we were writing. It’s a longer story to tell you, so let’s just say, this paper was already discussed, and the receiving party already knew who was writing the paper. Plus, if anyone read an email by her, they would know she couldn’t write a proper sentence. But I digress. My customer was mad because there was an email which gave a deadline for this paper and she was not cc’ed on it by the person asking for the paper. Once I read the email, I called her and sent her the email and that was her response.
She was mad that there were emails going back and forth without her knowing it, yet it was just a follow up on a meeting we had the day before, which she gave her OK to work on. If this isn’t making much sense to you, try living it. I have been dealing with this lady for the past 3 years it is getting rough. She took my manager into a side room and yelled at him about this like he was her son or something.
The saddest part of this all is that this is not the first time she has acted in this manner and we all know this is not going to be the last. The powers that be can not do anything because she is our customer and she basically pays our contract. It sucks when you’re being abused and there is nothing you can do about it. I know if this were a marriage and I was being abused like this everyone would say get the hell out of there, why are you staying with her, but since this is a job and my company can’t really do anything I just have to grin and bare it. I guess the old school saying fits here “Thank You Sir May I Have Another.” Actually, my mother told me this…”Be careful of the asses you kick on the way to the top, you never know which one you’ll have to kiss on the way down!” I think she heard that on the VIEW…which makes it hard to even type, but it is perfect for this situation. Hope your week was better than mine.
Peace,
DeMo
